Today, we facilitate access to diverse energy sources, along with a wide range of sustainability services and data management for international brands and local businesses. We are further expanding our Sustainability team in Europe and are looking to hire a Carbon Market Business Developer to expand our Carbon team working with customers and prospects and continue expanding our carbon business worldwide.

The role is new and will allow for great opportunities to shape the role together with our growing global carbon team.

Main responsibilities:

  • Proactive commercial development of market potential, working with both new and existing customers

  • Contribute to developing World Kinect’s carbon market position and visibility

  • Map and develop relationships with partners and counterparties

  • Sales training and support, including creating sales material

  • Monitor key carbon markets and develop commercial proposals on the back of this

  • Support business development activities within related markets

Job Requirements:

  • The successful candidate is likely to have in excess of 3 years relevant work experience in a carbon offset commercial role in carbon offset sales or carbon offset trading. Alternatively, experience gained internally as a carbon analysis subject matter expert would be considered.

  • Relevant work experience from carbon markets is essential

  • Bachelor's Degree level qualification is highly desirable. Preferably within business, environment, energy and sustainability, political science or economics

  • Experience and knowledge of international carbon accounting standards and methodologies is highly advantageous

  • Experience and knowledge of managing and/or selling wider environmental product projects and portfolios is desirable

  • Business mindset with a passion for sustainability

  • Strong commercial awareness and face to face negotiation experience is essential.

  • Driven by meeting and exceeding sales targets

  • Entrepreneurial and results driven approach

  • Strong stakeholder management skills - you will have strong skills in developing relationships with existing and new clients, internal team members and stakeholders and have proven ability to network effectively

  • Excellent written and verbal English skills are essential. Other European languages may be an advantage.

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills are essential
