From the engineers who design large-scale production systems and cutting-edge quality assurance tools to the hands-on associates who manage our massive inventory flow, they make up a diverse group of behind-the-scenes team members dedicated to the success of our organization.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesDISH is seeking an Engineer I to join our team and be responsible for supporting operations in all aspects of engineering functions at our Spartanburg, SC facility, including ergonomic and safety compliance, lean manufacturing cell design, work balance, data tracking, root cause analysis, and quality control.Key Responsibilities:Maintain AutoCAD layout of production cells and the facilityImplement process improvements of manufacturing operation to address quality, efficiency, and throughput opportunitiesPerform safety and ergonomic analysis of operations and develop corrective actions to improve safety performanceReview operational processes, identify proper safety requirements and ergonomic cell design.Perform time studies and identify work pattern solutionsData mine databases and spreadsheets to track performance and identify trends or opportunities for improvementSupport the launch of new products and processes, develop and document process steps and controls, specify and design new equipment or tooling as neededGenerate databases as needed to track metricsSkills, Experience and RequirementsEducation & Experience:B.S. in Engineering field with 2 years experience in an industrial environment or equivalent level of education and experienceAutoCAD experience required. SolidWorks knowledge is a plusMS Office and Google experience requiredExperience in implementing lean manufacturing and 5S solutionsKnowledge of time study and analysisAbility to use a computer, collect data, define problems, establish and analyze facts, and draw valid conclusionsSkills & Qualifications:The ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety rules, company policies, OSHA and production SOE'sCreate database to measure identified variables and outputs of the productAbility to work in a team environment with production operators, supervisors, and managersMust be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers in a professional environmentWill be required to write technical documents and train team membersMust have knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principlesKnowledge of electronic components and process controlsAbility to work with standard math functions, average, and standard deviationMust be familiar with root cause analysis and recognize work balance solutions from the dataCreate production cell and plant layouts in AutoCADAbility to perform tool design and analysis in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks a plusMust be able to lift 40 lbsThis position supports an industrial manufacturing environment and the candidate must have the ability to work hands on to support these operations. Must be flexible to support a two shift operation and new product process implementation.
