Polisher and Buffer
Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Polisher and Buffer who will begin in grinding, holding a hand grinder to smooth out rough edges and polish metal to a refined finish. The candidate will cross-train into basic fabrication, cutting metal to length using a tape measure, and performing tasks like brake press operations, spot welding, buffing, and racking for paint. The role also involves assisting other departments such as assembly, packaging, and paint as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate a hand grinder to smooth and polish metal surfaces.
- Cross-train in basic fabrication techniques, including cutting metal to specified lengths.
- Utilize a tape measure for accurate measurements.
- Operate brake press and perform spot welding.
- Assist in buffing and racking for paint processes.
- Support other departments, including assembly, packaging, and paint, as required.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through previous work experience, education, or hobbies.
- Experience in grinding, particularly with sheet metal.
- Proficient in reading and using a tape measure, with a solid understanding of basic math.
- Experience with hand and power tools, including welding, fabrication, and sheet metal work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing experience.
- Experience in reading tape measures.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Background in shop classes such as welding, automotive, woodworking, or machine/tool.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.84 - $22.09/hr.
