Test Technician/Electrician

Saber Power Services, LLC, (SPS) headquartered in Houston, TX is a nationally recognized full service, EPC, specialty engineering, procurement, construction and testing and commissioning company specializing in complex medium and high voltage electrical infrastructure in North America.

Saber Power is seeking a skilled Test Technician who also holds a Journeyman Electrician license to perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment. This individual will support field operations across industrial, commercial, and utility-scale projects, ensuring work is performed safely and according to technical standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform electrical testing, inspection, maintenance, and repair of power distribution equipment, including switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, relays, and protective devices.
• Support commissioning and start-up activities for substations and critical power systems.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in the field.
• Install, terminate, and test wiring and electrical equipment as needed.
• Document test results and create detailed field reports.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with project teams, engineers, and clients.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
• Valid Journeyman Electrician License, or ability to obtain.
• 3 years of experience in electrical testing or field service work.
• 5 years of experience as an electrician, Journeyman or equivalent
• Familiarity with test equipment such as megohmmeters, multimeters, insulation resistance testers, and circuit breaker testers.
• Experience with NFPA 70E, OSHA safety standards, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and one-line diagrams.
• Comfortable working in outdoor and industrial environments.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
• NETA or NICET certification (Level I or II) is a plus.
• Journeyman license or equivalent
• Experience working in substation or critical power environments.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, or relay programming is a bonus.
