Law School Campus Recruiter, Assistant Director

The opportunity


As a Law School Campus Recruiter, you'll be responsible for developing and executing a strategy to recruit qualified JD / LLM candidates to fill positions in designated Sub-Service Lines and / or Practices.


You'll work closely with law school programs across the country to identify top talent and convert prospects into active candidates.


You'll work with Business Leaders, human resource (HR) and recruiting leaders and hiring managers to execute on workforce and hiring plans.


You'll serve as a subject matter resource on this candidate profile and as a resource to our broader campus recruiting community.


Your key responsibilities


It’s no exaggeration to say no two days are quite the same in this role. You’ll take on a wide range of responsibilities including but not limited to :



  • Managing the overall LLM campus recruiting process at 5-7 LLM in Taxation programs across the country, inclusive of collaboration with Tax leadership to build campus recruiting teams for target law school programs

  • Collaborating with school recruiters to drive consistent strategy at JD target schools

  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with market recruiters and hiring partners of JD / LLM candidates

  • Developing and maintaining strong external working relationships with law students, faculty (including EY adjunct faculty), career development centers, and diversity officers

  • Leading specialized tax programs and initiatives throughout the year to further attract top JD / LLM talent to EY

  • Fostering and embedding a focus on diversity in all aspects of JD / LLM campus recruiting

  • You’ll be managing a diverse array of talent projects including campus events and national / global programs while ensuring a one-team approach related to recruiting.

  • You will be a representation of the EY brand and will strive to foster a sense of interest and enthusiasm for the opportunities that we have to offer our candidates.

  • You’ll have the ability to build and nurture long term relationships with internal and external stakeholders inclusive of collaboration with recruiters across the country and business leaders who seek this specialized skill set.


You’ll need to be creative and innovative in developing sourcing strategies that attract talent and maintain a strong focus on diversity, equity and inclusiveness.


To qualify for the role, you must have



  • A broad understanding of recruitment laws and practices

  • Strong understanding of compensation practices and benefit laws and practices

  • Possesses high level of specialized knowledge in campus recruiting specific to attorney candidates

  • Ability to assess whether candidates have the appropriate skills, competencies and experiences required to meet the specifications of the proposed position

  • Ability to articulate and market EY opportunities to candidates

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multitasking environment

  • Ability to utilize strategic thinking skills and work to collaborate with fellow team members on best practices


  • Ability and willingness to travel, when necessary, and flexible to work extended hours, especially during peak hiring seasons and in executing certain programs / initiatives

  • A proven record of success in talent attraction and retention

  • Experience managing complex projects and events

  • Strong knowledge of computer programs (i.e., Microsoft Office and other tools )

  • Strong communication skills including large scale speaking engagements

  • 6-10 plus years of related experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience


Ideally, you’ll also have



  • Experience working within professional services or large matrix corporate environment

  • Experience supervising small teams and providing counseling

  • Experience with creation and implementation of recruitment strategy

  • Analytical skills to interpret and react to complex and constantly evolving data
