About the position
The Lead Engineer - Customer Application Engineering role at GE Vernova involves overseeing inquiry to order (ITO) engineering activities for the global ONW business. This position serves as the technical interface among various teams, including Commercial Operations, Sales, and Project Management, to ensure engineering excellence in Wind Turbine proposals. The engineer will be responsible for managing technical aspects of proposals, conducting risk assessments, and optimizing product offerings to meet customer needs while driving process improvements.
Responsibilities
• Work with Commercial and Projects teams to ensure alignment of engineering support to enable desired orders growth and increase customer value
,
• Responsible for the process and execution for project risk assessment prior to contract signature
,
• Drive process & standardization around product offerings including simplified product portfolio & strategy for Design to Orders (DTOs) and customer options
,
• Manage the technical aspects of aftermarket proposals including design-to-order requests
,
• Lead process improvement efforts related to GE Vernova's risk assessment and due diligence
,
• Provide energy assessments and optimize product offerings considering factors such as suitability, environmental conditions, economics, and technical risk
,
• Provide support for responses to all customer technical inquiries and communications, as well as review of customer specifications and site data
,
• Engage with Platform and product line leader to ensure product requirement deliverables are identified & met where practicable
,
• Communicate contract and project requirements to all design functions, utilizing internal documentation systems
,
• Contribute to and approve customer facing technical documents
,
• Foster metrics to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize resource consumption
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
,
• Minimum of 3 years of engineering and technology experience, including strong demonstration of technical skills

• Experience in renewable energy/wind technologies
,
• Established project management and leadership skills
,
• System or product-level mindset
,
• Commercial experience or exposure
,
• Strong interpersonal skills
,
• Proven ability to interpret customer requirements and identify needs

• Experience with controls, SCADA
