Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is currently seeking an Operations Coordinator to work remotely in support of our US Government contracts. In this role, the Operations Coordinator prepares, manages, and tracks budgets for multiple projects being run simultaneously. They will also manage and reconcile monthly invoices for each of these projects across a number of different Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs). The ideal candidate is someone who understands the basics of financial management and is willing to learn our company-specific systems and US Government financial requirements.




Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Sets up cost control system, monitors and controls costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system.
  • Performs analyses and prepares reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.
  • Prepares budgets and schedules for contract work and performs and/or assists in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis.
  • Prepares program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled.
  • Performs schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks.
  • Ensures adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government.
  • Incorporates contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines.
  • Prepares procurement documents such as Purchase Requests.
  • Monitors subcontractor funding and expenditures.



Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
  • 2 years experience in government contract finance
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with very strong Excel proficiency.
  • Experience preparing budgets, consolidated financial statements, and reports.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and key accounting concepts.
  • Excellent time management, verbal and written communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess the ability to communicate with all levels of management effectively.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Be flexible and possess the ability to function in stressful situations.
  • Be a dependable team player.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain.



Preferred Requirements

  • 4 years' relevant experience in Accounting/Finance with a Bachelors' Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 4 years' experience in government contract finance
  • Deltek Costpoint experience
  • Experience with Smartsheet
