The Global Commercial organization within Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolic (CVRM) is responsible for shaping and building a winning portfolio that establishes AstraZeneca as an enduring leader in the cardio, renal and metabolic area.
The CVRM Global Commercial team main areas of focus are as follows:
- Commercial strategy, planning and valuation of the CVRM assets from Phase 3 ID through to launch
- Shape disease area and asset strategies (in Heart Failure/dyslipidemia /NASH)
- Generate & utilize deep customer insights (patient, physician, payer) to inform clinical development plans and to create differentiated and winning brand strategies for late stage pipeline assets
- Create evidence based forecasts that are aligned with target product profiles and that credibly reflect a range of commercial potential
- Develop commercial programs in preparation for launch of late stage assets in competitive global markets
- Creating global brand and development of marketing launch campaigns
- This role will report to a CVRM Early Commercial Head. Over time it is anticipated that the position will move to report to a Global Commercial Marketing Head and form part of a fully formed Global Commercial Brand team focused on the asset.
- Strategic and tactical commercial and business acumen

- Shape unique, winning brand strategies, global product and global brand strategies
- Develop marketing campaign and global brands ready for launch in global markets
- Develop accurate and compelling business cases with meaningful sensitivities
- Establish and nurture internal and external senior stakeholder/key external expert/partnering networks to drive favorable business outcomes
We are seeking an experienced commercial leader to develop and prepare for new brand launches in CVRM working closely with global cross functional teams, market affiliates and external partners to shape and build a winning CVRM brand for AstraZeneca. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Shape CVRM product strategies and promotional campaigns for soon to launch asset
- Support with objectively analyzing and commercially evaluating pre-launch brand considering product profile, competitive positioning, unmet need, pricing and market access, etc.
- Utilize deep customer and market insights to inform the design of clinical development programs and regulatory plans that effectively address unmet customer needs and delivers optimum value back to the business
- Create clear, actionable, winning brand strategies that incorporate feedback from key markets
- Produce detailed strategic and operational commercial plans that address positioning, segmentation, pricing, value proposition, target market selection, etc.. Track and manage associated budget to target.
- Oversee the development and delivery of an optimized customer insight plan that delivers deep and actionable insights on key outstanding business questions required to inform product development and brand strategy plans as well as asset valuation
- Develop future proofed revenue forecasts and business cases that are informed by robust customer insights with an overlay of commercial judgement.
- Manage marketing relationships with agencies, vendor partners, consultants, and other third-party groups
- Build and maintain external and internal networks of disease area experts
- Collaborate with CVRM Commercial leadership (and other team members) to deliver the global CVRM ambition, including successful product launch and Life Cycle Management plans.
- Comply with AZ policies, standards and procedures in every interaction
- Global on-market brand heads and marketing company commercial leaders
- Cross functional teams Research, Development, Pharm Dev, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Pricing and Market Access, Business Insights, Regional commercial teams
- Key external stakeholders; eg, HCPs in Ad Boards and at congresses (as appropriate)
- Governance boards
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS is required
- 10+ years experience in pharmaceutical development and commercialization
- Demonstrated success working in marketing teams to deliver: effective commercial brand strategies, compelling business cases, and a wide variety of licensing proposals
- Strong working knowledge of forecasting, market research, actionable insight generation, and competitive landscape analysis and interpretation
- Strong knowledge in global promotional campaigns and new product launches
- Sound internal and external stakeholder/partner engagement skills with demonstrated ability to seamlessly navigate scientific and commercial organizations to drive favorable business outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to influence laterally and vertically
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication/presentation skills (written and verbal)
- Scientific curiosity
- Self-starter, able to work independently.
- High personal drive to find new solutions and challenge the broader organisation to deliver
- Relevant Therapeutic Area knowledge CVRM NASH /Liver disease
- Relevant Therapeutic Area knowledge CVRM Dyslipidemia
- Commercial/marketing role in US or other large Market with Launch Experience
- Broad US/Global professional relationships with Key External Experts in CVRM
