Operations Manager
This position has overall responsibility for assuring the implementation of the defined planning, administration, evaluation and support services, and related planning functions for the entire program. This position oversees the smooth functioning of the program in all operational areas to include the areas of fiscal, human resources, inventory and warehouse, transportation/vehicles, facilities, and technology in order to provide reliable, healthy and safe services to children and families, and to support the goals of the program.
General knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start and a thorough knowledge of administration, budgeting, purchasing systems management, principles and techniques of supervision and personnel management; public relation skills. Knowledge of office systems and computer systems. Knowledge of facilities, transportation, technology and food services management. Knowledge of basic operations, tools, and terms used in building maintenance work. Knowledge of how to secure and oversee plumbing, painting, and other light facility maintenance. Knowledge of federal, state and local safety and building code requirements. Knowledge of safe and thorough basic cleaning and sanitation practices. Knowledge of local resources, languages and customs helpful.
A bachelor’s degree in business management, public administration, construction management or other closely related business area is required at a minimum. Courses, training or work experience which includes budgeting, personnel, and supervision are required.
Schedule: 40 hours a week / 52 weeks a year.
