We are currently hiring a  Brewer in Boston, MA< b> .< p>

This role is responsible for making beer at the Samuel Adams Boston R&D Production brewery, with emphasis on industry leading safety and quality standards. This means you will join a team of dedicated, creative professionals who make the best beer in the US and are serious about doing it. You will succeed in this role because of your ability to contribute to, learn from and lead a dynamic, innovation focused work environment that leverages your passion for both the art and science of brewing. What You'll Do:< b> < p>

  • Adherence to Boston Beer Co. safety, quality, and sanitation standards< li>
  • Operation and routine maintenance of all brewing, processing, and packaging equipment< li>
  • Work independently and collaboratively across all brewery areas< li>
  • Full ownership and accountability of assigned processing areas on a rotating basis< li>
  • Project work as assigned by Head Brewer or Brewing Manager< li>
  • Recipe writing of various beer styles pulling from a vast knowledge base< li>
  • Routine analytical lab work in process checks< li>
  • Accurate data collection, tracking, and analysis of all brewing processes< li>
  • Participation in regular process review and troubleshooting; enacting appropriate preventative and corrective actions< li>
  • Contribution to collaborative and individual recipe development as assigned< li>
  • Participation in Sensory panels, including but not limited to daily panel, tetrads and roundtable tastings< li>
  • Maintenance of raw material inventory in collaboration with Operations team< li>
  • Occasional forklifting light shipping and receiving duties as needed< li>
  • Consistently support Boston Beer Co. culture development, both internally and externally, including training efforts, public tours, tastings, and communications< li>
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, Process Improvement and Process Control< li>
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment through strong communication, interpersonal, and teambuilding skills< li>
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to drive impact and effect positive change with a flexible, open minded, positive approach< li>
  • Collaborate with maintenance to ensure safe and effective running of all brewing process related equipment< li>

    What We're Looking For:< b> < p>

  • B.S. in Brewing; B.S. in Food Science Technology, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering; or Brewers Diploma Certification preferred< li>
  • 4+ years professional brewing experience, proven track record of professional growth a plus< li>
  • Strong knowledge of Brewery operations from raw ingredient to package< li>
  • Proven ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment allowing for knowledgeable, quick decisions with shifting needs< li>
  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office< li>
  • Prior leadership or team management experience desired< li>
