Eligibility

To be eligible for the Job Corps program, individuals must meet certain criteria, including:

• Age: Participants must be between the ages of 16 and 24 at the time of enrollment.
• Citizenship: Participants must be a US citizen, a US national, or a lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Income: Participants must come from a family whose income is at or below the federal poverty level. Alternatively, they may be a foster child, homeless, a runaway, or a youth in the juvenile justice system.
• Education: Participants must meet specific education requirements, which vary depending on the career field they wish to pursue. Generally, they must be at least at an eighth-grade reading and math level.
